What does changemaking mean to you? How do you define what changemaking is to someone who's never heard the term?
Changemaking is the process of finding a social problem that you are passionate about and trying to make a difference in your way. As a changemaker, you will take on an important role in your community.
Why do you consider yourself a changemaker? What issues are at the center of your changemaking work?
I would consider myself a changemaker because I have acknowledged the need for change in our community. I have dedicated myself to volunteering in several different areas, including volunteering at cleanups, community outreach programs, or local hospitals. These experiences have brought me several different perspectives about what our community needs. I am dedicating myself to work on our community's well-being, societal equity, and climate change.
To be a changemaker, it is important to...
Be dedicated.
What would you tell a student who would like to start their journey as a changemaker?
For students who are interested in becoming changemakers, it is important to be receptive. An impactful change can be made in many different ways, no matter how big or small. As a tip to start finding your interests, try to observe your environment. What can you change for the better?
