Organist Jared Gold's emergence as one of the New York area's most in-demand musicians comes from years of dedication and respect to his instrument. With such notable influences as Larry Young, Jack McDuff and Don Patterson to draw upon as a foundation, the emphasis on finding his own voice has now clearly taken precedence and required Gold to construct his own unique philosophy based on extending harmony and solidifying the groove. He is considered one of the more original organists on the scene today. Gold won the DownBeat magazine Critics Poll Rising Star on organ in 2013 and has continued to place every year since.
Gold's latest release, Reemergence, features Dave Stryker, Jeremy Pelt and Billy Hart. Gold has also been a member of Stryker’s Trio for the last 15 years. They opened for Steely Dan’s 2022 summer tour and have recorded 10 albums for Strikezone Records. Gold has also recorded eight albums under his own name for the Positone Label including Metropolitan Rhythm (2018), JG 3+3 (2014) and Golden Child (2012).
Gold, a New Jersey native and graduate of William Paterson University's jazz program, keeps a busy schedule of domestic and international tours and founded his company, JG3 Tech, which deals with portable organs.
All concerts are free and open to the public. Live performances will take place at Wolfson Campus Auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Miami, FL 33132. Building 1, Room 1261. Performances will be livestreamed, except for the student ensembles.
